Hayakawa sensei allowed me to join in with the Saturday morning competition class – which was 100 minutes or so of high paced training. The competition class, as the title might suggest, focuses on training in preparation for…well, competitions….
The flow of the class begins with a quick warm up, followed by drilling of, for example throws, pass moves and so on – a particular action needs to be repeated as many times as possible over a 60 second burst before changing over. After that it was to sparring – and lots of it!
