Welcome, Nabeel! #BJJ

July 30, 2011

We were happy to welcome Nabeel to Triforce today- he’ll be staying in town for a month or so- hope to see you at Triforce daily!

Nabeel’s been training for a year or so, but handled himself really well in the regular class – looking forward to rolling with him more in the coming month

Jardi was looking to get in on the action las night, here arm barring Shimyo sensei – nice work!

#BJJ Welcome, Jason!

July 27, 2011

It was nice to have Jason come and train with us this morning- a little bit of variety does your technique wonders 🙂 I’m usually one of the more heavier guys at class, so it was good to get matched up with Jason, whose sitting at the 90kg mark – 10kgs over me!

Wednesdays mean morning classes are headed up by Iga sensei- which in turn means lots of muscle training – I failed at this big time, but feel like I’m slowly edging back towards where I was before injury – baby steps!

#BJJ Hazy Sunday

July 17, 2011

36 degrees out today, but still, a boat load of guys and girls turned up and trained – I’m wondering whether there really isn’t nothing better to do on a lazy Sunday afternoon?! 🙂

Due to the lack of mat space, the purple & brown belts stayed on the matt with the lower levels taking it in turns to spar with them – leading to nothing but hard sparring for the majority of blue belts.

#BJJ Conditioning is everything

July 14, 2011

This was my second proper class back since injury where I had two fun months off- jeez, I knew I’d lost ‘some’ conditioning, but it was really depressing to be winded with no energy after only two sparring bouts 😦

Still, it was good decent technique practice in:)

Hey, beginner class- long time no see! #bjj

July 12, 2011

I attended 9pm beginner class yesterday and it was great to get through a full class with no pain 🙂 Really going to kick on and get back to where I was at before injury!

#BJJ – Been a while…

July 8, 2011

Got back to Triforce after 45 days away with my neck injury, which I can now happily say is a thing of the past! Today I didn’t do too much but I’m looking forward to getting match fit over the course of the weeks and months- looking for a strong second half of 2011!

Itoigawa sensei told me that recently the morning class has seen a lot of people training – l always said that the morning classes were the best 🙂

Welcome, UFC! #BJJ

July 2, 2011

I was over the moon to hear that the UFC will come to Japan this year, 2011. I wouldn’t of believed it but for the fact that it was posted all over the UFC website, with Dana White saying that it was a definite for 2011. The UFC has recently been signing a lot of Japanese talent to it’s fight roster – I for one would love to see Yushin Okami defend his would be title against the #1 contender Tokyo side! (A few things have to go right before that becomes a reality though….)
